Throughout the year, the Cote d'Azur offers a rich and varied cultural life to suit all tastes and preferences. A few figures prove just how wide the choice really is: over 3,000 cultural events including more than 730 concerts, 1,000 theatre performances, 90 operas, about 100 song recitals, 100 dance performances, nearly 350 lectures, more than 100 festivals and other shows...

FAUNA AND FLORA
The mediterranean's underwater fauna is quite amazing for its diversity and the richness of its species, evolving in the rocky depths. Put on your mask and set off to discover octopuses, red mullet, John Dory, sea-bream...not forgetting stone bass, the Mediterranean's symbolic fish, nowadays a protected specie. While strolling along the shore, you'll come across luxuriant vegetation composed mostly of pines, palms, orange and lemon trees, exotic plants (banana and eucalyptus).
MARINAS
Playing host to the largest number of boats in France, the Cote d'Azur's yacht harbours provide an ensemble that is remarkable for the quality of its equipment and the number of mooring spots available. The most demanding yachtsmen can choose the most suitable stopovers from a wide diversity of sites and an extensive range of services and commercial amenities.
UNDERWATER DIVING
Explore the deep blue sea. Where unsuspected fauna and flora reign supreme. Capes, creeks and little bays offer magnificent points of departure for discovering a world of silence. Learn, film, discover and dive, with or without breathing apparatus... Almost 40 clubs on the Coast, most of them open all year round.

SAILING ACTIVITIES

All over the Cote d'Azur you'll find clubs, sailing centers, an association of harbour to welcome you warmly and offer the type of activity that suits you best. Clubs are usually affiliated to their own particular federation. Federation labels guarantee qualified supervision provided by instructors with the appropriate certificates. PLEASURE BOATS YACHTING
A major destination for yachtmen and pleasure boat enthusiasts, the Cote d'Azur provides all that even the most demanding sailor could possibly need: 33 yacht harbours are dotted along the Coast from Menton to Theoule and, naturally; each has its own personality.
Everything has been designed to accommodate all categories of boats, from the smallest to the super-yacht, and to ensure the enjoyment and comfort of all. A comprehensive range of services for both sail and motorboats is provided in all the harbours. One just has to select one's preferred décor against a backcloth of sea and mountains, one's favourite resort or town.
Choose one's home port and everything that goes with it: for the evening, for relaxation, lunch or dinner, for departures to other ports of all...on land...It's a matter of feeling. And sailing, sailing, just as one feels, to see the dolphins and, of course, the Riviera's lovely sirens.
ANTIBES; EUROPE'S NO .1 YACHT HARBOUR
On a shoreline of about 100 linear kilometers, the Riviera offers 36 yacht harbours with a total 18,549 berths. Antibes is Europe's No.1 yacht harbour. Cannes is both a port welcoming cruise ships and the embarkation point for the 350,000 passengers who visit the nearby Lerins Islands. Nice is one of the busiest embarkation points for Corsica.
Currently a very promising sector in terms of international demand. The cruise industry is undergoing spectacular development on the Cote d'Azur. The total number of cruise passengers quite simply doubled between '92 and '98, to attain 300,000 passengers at present.
