The "Littoral"
As you will discover, the Var "Littoral" is unlike any other. A profoundly sea-faring country, Le Var stretches along over 430 km of sun-drenched coast, and has more than 90 km of beaches to its credit. Between Saint Cyr in the west and Saint Raphael to the east, the regions of Saint Tropez, Bormes les Mimosas and Le Lavandou, Frejus, and Toulon all serve to double the pleasure of the water: white sandy beaches, glowing red rocks quenched by the sea, umbrella pines casting their shadows up to the water's edge, peaceful creeks.
The ideal temperature of the Var waters (up to 30 degrees in summer), and its famous "Mistral", which sailing and wind-surfing enthusiasts love so much, all help to make our cost-line the paradise it is for all forms of wind sports. You will also see that our marine depths are still rich and well-preserved (like the under-water pathway at Port Cros, which is the only one of its kind in the country), vast expanses of costal zone have been long protected and painstakingly classified. In short, the natural environment here is genuine, and it still gives without asking for anything in return. In Le Var you have over 300 days of sunshine to help you make the most of it.
